Six: The City of Paphos, on the Island of Cyprus
The thirty-third year since the resurrection of Jesus Christ, on the fifth day of the fifth month.
Alexander has reminded me that we should not remain content to be always in one city, but must carry the gospel across all of Cyprus. We plan to leave Paphos tomorrow and travel through many cities preaching the gospel on our way to Salamis, on the other end of the island. There is so much need for the gospel here, although there are many Christians in the areas where Paul preached years ago. It will be wonderful to visit Salamis again, to see all my old friends and family. Some of them do make it over to this side of Cyprus every few months, but our responsibilities keep us from seeing much of each other even then. I am looking forward to this trip, and pray that the Lord will provide fertile ground for His word, and that any trials we may face will turn out to the furtherance of His gospel.
